Lake Michigan viewed from the shore appears to be more of an ocean than a lake. As you look to the horizon there is no sight of land on the other side. I wanted to convey a feeling of the immensity of this natural wonder when I spotted two swimmers silhouetted by the setting sun, giving a sense of scale to the image. I was looking down from the top of a large sand dune near Holland, Michigan when I created this photo.
