I ran across this Eastern Hognose snake while visiting the Riley Trails natural area in Ottawa County, Michigan today. It was about 3 feet long and on the ground among the pine needles. The pattern and coloring of it’s scales were very interesting as seen in this close up view. (click on any of my photos to see an enlarged version)
